We were seated on the street which was not my favorite. Lots of traffic. John was a great waiter and very attentive! Food was excellent. We had the squid ink pasta and the lobster risotto. Best part of the risotto was the fresh asparagus! Great fresh bread with real butter! We moved to the bar for an after dinner drink and cappuccino! We met Fernando the bartender and had a ball listening to his stories! Great espresso martini!!!! Eat inside if you can.

From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere hits you-a mix of intimate lighting, warm wooden accents, and a hum of lively conversation that makes you feel both relaxed and excited for what’s to come. Having visited Toulouse multiple times, I can confidently say it’s the kind of place that combines culinary sophistication with a laid-back, friendly vibe.
The menu at Toulouse is nothing short of impressive. From seasonal salads to rich, flavorful entrees, every dish feels thoughtfully crafted. One of my personal favorites is their braised short rib-it’s tender, succulent, and accompanied by a creamy side that balances the savory richness perfectly. On another visit, I tried the seared scallops with a delicate citrus glaze, and the way the flavors played together was a testament to the chef’s attention to detail. The kitchen clearly values technique and presentation, ensuring each plate tells a story.
Service here also deserves mention. The staff at Toulouse are not only knowledgeable about the menu but genuinely enthusiastic about helping diners discover new flavors. During one lunch visit, our server walked us through pairing recommendations for both wines and cocktails, offering insight into why certain flavors harmonize. This level of guidance makes a meal feel more like an experience than just eating out. It’s the kind of personal touch that keeps locals coming back and encourages visitors to explore dishes they might not otherwise choose.
The ambiance and location complement the food beautifully. Situated on Knox Street, the restaurant sits in a vibrant area known for its boutique shops and cultural charm. It’s easy to imagine spending a whole afternoon in the neighborhood, then stopping in for a long, leisurely dinner. The combination of location and atmosphere turns a simple meal into an event-perfect for special occasions, casual lunches, or a night out with friends.
What stands out most about Toulouse is their commitment to quality ingredients. Many dishes showcase locally sourced produce and seasonal flavors, which not only supports the community but also keeps the menu fresh and exciting. This attention to sourcing aligns with broader trends in culinary excellence: according to the James Beard Foundation, restaurants emphasizing local ingredients tend to receive higher praise from critics and diners alike. Toulouse exemplifies this principle beautifully, demonstrating a keen understanding of how ingredient quality elevates the overall dining experience.
Customer reviews reflect the restaurant’s consistent performance. Across multiple platforms, diners highlight the carefully curated menu, the inviting environment, and the attentive service. I loved this dining experience with my friends and family. Servers were nice, too. However, our dishes were a bit overcooked or undercooked, and my mom’s salmon was pink inside. The dessert was great though. We got cheesecake and soufflé. It’s also EXTREMELY loud inside, and you basically have to yell to be heard. There were also many people. Still a great place to have a dining experience. Would recommend a large group for it.
Toulouse is one of those restaurants that has all of the ingredients to be great, but in the end, leaves me feeling disappointed. Let me be clear on why. It’s not the service or atmosphere. Our server, Abigail, was excellent. She knows how to be attentive to your needs but not obtrusive. The bistro vibes and multiple seating options both inside and out provide different environments to suit a variety of preferences. It’s the food that lets it down. Specifically, certain elements of a dish. For example, the deviled eggs would have been excellent except the truffle flavor was so strong that it overpowered everything else. The steak was cooked perfectly but there was a slight toughness to the texture that made it feel like a lower grade piece of meat. The bearnaise sauce was ok and consequently didn’t enhance my bite when I added it to the steak. The profiteroles didn’t taste freshly made. The gelato was great but the sauce tasted like Hershey’s syrup. The food is by no means terrible. For the price point, however, I expect the food to match the excellent service and atmosphere.
Brought my mom here for Mother’s Day weekend and wow! The Beef Bourguignon ($34) and Trout Almondine ($29) were spectacular. I had the Off with Her Head cocktail ($13) and really enjoyed it as well. Patio vibe was phenomenal however our tables were so close together I almost couldn’t get in and out of my seat. Our server, Lee, was delightful. She took excellent care of us!
Absolutely everything on the menu was 10/10 Went for Valentine’s Day. It was super packed and waited 30 minutes after our reservation time. The managers were very polite though and the waiter (Eduardo) was very thorough with answering our questions and attending to us! Would definitely come back and try other food options again!
GREAT FOOD OPTIONS AND SPEED OF FOOD ON A BUSY NIGHT WAS TOP NOTCH They have a robust menu, friendly and attentive service, my water glass was never empty even on a busy Christmas night. Ordered the lamb shank, it was tender and well flavored - very delicious. I would definitely order it again. I subbed out the green peas for asparagus, our server Eduardo was very accommodating and great. I’m not a fan of soufflés usually, but this one was delicious! Slightly egg forward but so light and fluffy and decadent - it was well done and worth getting again!
I love this Parisian restaurant. Izykiel was a great server. Place is amazing. Food is great. Outdoor patio is best. Never disappoints. My husband and I visit often. One of the top in Dallas.Margaret King is also an excellent manager ! We’ll be back ! Thank you Toulouse
Toulouse is a go to for me. The service, atmosphere, and overall vibe are always great. Great for a romantic date night or a simple lunch break while walking the trail. Their outdoor seating is great. Some of the best zucchini chips I have ever had. I highly recommend.
